I am 33 years old and live in the Sternschanze in Hamburg, Germany. I studied psychology and am a professional psychotherapist (CBT). In the past, I also counseled refugees. For now, I’m working at the university as a research assistant.

When traveling, I try to avoid flying and haven't been on an airplane since January 2019 (not only due to Covid, haha).
I am a vegetarian who feels guilty for not being vegan and try to eat vegan as often as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My best friend told me he met a lot of wonderful people on here. Because I like traveling, meeting new people and sharing stories, I am giving it a try.
I am an extrovert and like meeting new people and get to know about them and their lives. I am interested in a multitude of topics, so having good conversations is usually never an issue.

Loving rock music, everything from Indie to Punk, Metal and Classic Rock.
Also, I love exploring new genres! Sometimes Electronic music and Hip-Hop, but also Blues, Jazz and Classic.

I also like watching movies and reading books (mostly non-fiction).
Favorite movies include: Forrest Gump, Inception and Shutter Island, the german teen movie "Schule", movies by Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch. Favorite actors are Leo, Joaquin Phoenix, Matthew McConaughey, Jack Nicholson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did Erasmus in Salamanca, Spain in 2015 and met people from all over the world there.
Traveled Ireland and England on my own in 2017, meeting up with friends I made through Erasmus and my bands.
Tried my first surfing trip in 2019 without needing to fly near Bordeaux, France.
Did my first snowboarding trip just in december 2021 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (also without flying). Absolutely loved it! Did 2 other snowboarding trips and it’s one of my favorite hobbies now.

Furthermore, I loved touring with the three bands I was playing in so far.

I'm able to play multiple instruments (mostly guitar and drums), so I might show you something.
Also, tremendous amount of knowledge and trivia about music, culture and psychology.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Profound conversations.
A place to crash in return, in the unlikely event you find yourself in the city of Giessen.
But I also have lots of friends all over Germany and even beyond. Used to live in Cologne. So if you need a place to crash there, that should work without problems as well.
