About Me

Hello world!
My name is Marcel and I live in the beautiful city of Freiberg in the heart of Saxony! Right now I'm a student (again after 8 years) and learn Russian as my "third" foreign language. :)

--Basic Stuff--

During my working live, I had some struggles and troubles. I'm a professional carpenter (I'm honest, I hate it). Some years ago a participated in a volunteering program where I took care of many different animals (from small little frogs, to huge eagle owls). It was such a great experience, I can't even describe :)
.
In my free time I love to discover new places. I also love to hike in forests and mountains, to cycle long long distances or just chill a little bit in the sun. ;)
Other people says I'm a very calm and friendly person, but really unpredictable as well. So if you think you know, better think twice :P
.
Okay, I guess it's enough for a short presentation of myself. If you have any questions, let me know! :)
.
Greetings and hopefully to hear from you!
Marcel

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a good option, to meet a bunch of new, interesting people, make new friends, or just for hangouts!
So i hope to find plenty of cool people here! :)

Interests

I simply love many kinds of sporty activity, like cycling or hiking.
If I'm honest, I climbed just once in my life, but it made so much fun, I wanna do it more often :).
In other respects I love playing volleyball and football :D

I'm also very interested in the cultural exchange. I'd like to start a lot of travelling to other countries, to see their art of living. I simply like it to meet new people and stay in touch with them :).

I also very interested in the nature, to live with the nature is my "current lifestyle".
I don't waste a lot of money for some useless stuff that no one needs. I'm a veggie, care for hurt animals etc etc etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is German Rock and Folk ;) .. bands are for example: Subway to Sally, Rabenschrey and Saltatio Mortis :)

I really enjoy the series: The Walking Dead, Vikings, The 100 aaaaand last but not least: Game of Thrones *-*. I fall in love with these series ^-^.

I don`t read many regular books, but some books for sure.. my favorite authors are Veit Etzold, Dmitri Glukhovsky and Wolfgang Hohlbein.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"Shoot a polar bear doesn't make you a badass" ---- "Feeding a polar bear while her cub humbs your leg makes you a badass" ;)
This spell isn't a random spell for me. You know eagle owl's, do you? For natural safety I gave a wild grown up eagle owl eye drops. He pondered me all the time, but know he is very thankfully (i hope so) that I helped him, so he got his eyesight back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm sure that I can teach you some basics about the german language (that might be a good training for me as well, because I'd like to become a teacher or translator in some time)
I can tell you a lot of stuff about (German) history, especially in Dresden and more especially from Freiberg. ;)

Probably I can teach you some things about my lifestyle, living (nearly) without money, living as an (almost) vegan, learning appreciate the smaller things in life.. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I could share with hosts? Hmmmmm...

I can give you a hand for some handyman jobs!
I'm a trained Carpenter.
But carpentry is now more a hobby than a job for me. In a regular joinery it's very stressful... and I hate stress!
(In all areas of life :/ )
