I noticed that my information got old, so here is a new introduction. My name is Marcel, I live next to Colonge in Germany and travelling is my passion. I'm here to meet people at my trips or to meet travellers here in Germany and have a great time together. I like doing a lot of activities, for example I love photography and if you like, we can go on a phototour together. I love good food too and always want to try new restaurants. I love to hike in the nature or to swim in the ocean, to enjoy music in the streets of interesting citys and many other things. It would be so nice to meet many people who read this and to have a great time together. If I'm in your city and you can't host me, but want to spend some time together, I'm fine with it. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love to get in contact with people from all over the world and share experiences together. I love to sit in nice restaurants, bars, pubs or sometimes even in a club. I like sightseeing, but at all my trips I try to leave the tourists paths for a while too and I try to discover the local lifestyle and history.

Interests

I like sports very much, I'm playing Hockey in a club and i like to play football or swimming with friends. I go to a gym too, but i like more to do sport with other people.
When i have enough time, i love to make new experiences. Sometimes i play miniature golf at moonlight, play lasertag or i take my camera and go to new places. I love to relax in nature and i love to enjoy the life in big cities where you can meet people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like very different kinds of music. I like Charts and rock music, for dancing (I'm a bad dancer but i dont care :D) even electronic or german folk. But i'm openminded in music too and so one of my favorite bands is a Japanese rock band called One Ok Rock, perhaps some of you know them too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I dreamed all my life of visiting Japan and this year I realized my dream. It was also the first trip alone and without friends. In Japan you can do a lot of amazings things, but one thing I will never forget for sure. I visited Hiroshima, a peaceful looking place with nice parks and a tragic history. There are a lot of memorials, which remember you at the horrible attack and that peace is the most important thing, that we can have in our live. I visited the museum, which gives a very realistic view into the suffering of the Japanese people in 1945 and the years after. It's impossible to leave this place without being touched by the tragedy, but it's an experience that changes your mind and makes you thinking about the world differently, especially in our times, when some countrys think about using atomic bombs again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really interested in learning languages, but i'm not the person who likes to take some classes for it. I learn with the people i got to know, for example at the moment arabic at my work or Japanese with people i met in Colonge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The most important thing i can share is a smile and a nice time together. In Colonge i can show you the most beautiful places and than where local people drink the wonderful local beer called "Kölsch". I know a lot about other german cities too and give you some informations. And we can share pictures, i love the photography and to take pictures.
