About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make music while figuring out the rest of my life.

ABOUT ME

I'm mostly a musician-- fiddle & sing with a little guitar. I have a minor in Bluegrass, Old Time & Country Music from East Tennessee State University and I've play American Old Time, Bluegrass fiddle in the past, but I'm currently obsessed with Scottish and Irish dance music. I love folk dance-- currently contra & squares. I'm also an amateur photographer and I enjoy seeing interesting things and people to photograph.

I have a great little dog named Edna and when I'm not making music, I might be hitting the trail with her.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to really live, as often as I can, with as much gusto as I can manage.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None at all. This sounds like a fantastic idea and I look forward to trying it out and, in the future, offering my couch to people who want to visit East Tennessee.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read and it's hard to pick just a few to mention. My favorite book might be The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James. I also love The Web of Belief by Quine & Ullian. I love movies-- all sorts-- and I'm a junkie for TV cooking competitions. I love Irish and Scottish Traditional Music, American Folk Music, but I also enjoy my share of pop music. My all-time favorite band is R.E.M.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hiked some of the Appalachian Trail and it is amazing, amazing, amazing.
