I am teaching Grade One in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. It's my first year - and has been a learning adventure! I am passionate about social justice, poverty and people and spent the last three years working in NGO's in Cape Town. I love reading, running, hiking, eating, learning new languages and exploring... meeting new and different people is so great!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have spent some time travelling in different places and realise how much greater the experience was, when done along with a local/ person who lives in the space. I'd love to be able to offer the same to somebody else - in the next three week I am planning my next trip and would love to connect with some couchsurfers too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow - fan of all sorts of music, though a terrible rememberer of ALL lyrics. Latest tune in my head - I just can't wait to be king (Yes, Lion King obsessed Grade One's), love books and lucky to have a book collecting sister. Just read "Dreams in a Time of War" (Ngugi wa Thiongo) which I loved. Unashamedly love Pitch Perfect... Eish, can't really comment on all of these!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an easy natured person, who is happy to get my hands dirty. I'm tidy and not afraid to do the dishes (and make sure there is enough salt in the meal :-) ) I love doing most things and love chatting about all most anything. I'd be a quiet visitor and as involved as you'd want me to be.
