My name is Marco, professionally I am somewhat a mixture of a political scientiest / political psychologist / political economist with a strong expertise in quanti and statistics. Away from this, I am in general a very curious person with various (not neccessarily always immediately interconnected) interests who has lived, studied and worked in different places, such as Oldenburg, Bremen, Cologne, Bielefeld (all DE), as well as close to Atlanta (US).

I'd describe myself as open-minded and empathetic, interested in other people and life, sometimes serious and sometimes (mostly :-)) homorous.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

In 2015, after one semester abroad in Georgia (USA), my flatmates from Germany and me travelled down the west coast of the US in 21 days. It was an incredibly rich experience , which was made possible by some very nice couchsurfer hosts.

Not only that we had a place to crash, but Couchsurfing has vastely broadened my horizon in the past - it brings you in touch with people you would have otherwise never met, ways of thinking you would never have known :)

From a nowadays outlook: In societies with ever more homogenous getting bubbles (online and offline), the idea to get in touch with differing conceptions of life, perceptions and views seems as important as ever.
