About Me

"As I was going down impassive Rivers,
I no longer felt myself guided by haulers:
Yelping redskins had taken them as targets
And had nailed them naked to colored stakes. "
(Arthur Rimbaud, The drunken boat)

Hi! I'm Marco. I come from Cremona, a beautiful city in the region of Lombardy located along the left bank of the Po river, the longest river in Italy.

My city is globally known for its violins made by Antonio Stradivari, for its traditional food and typical gastronomic products like torrone, mustard, salami. It's not a very large city, it's mostly a big town; however you can visit the entire city center just by walk in a bunch of minutes!

I'm an outgoing, generous, curious, polite and hospitable. I started the University of Trento in September 2014, attending Computer Science faculty.
After 4 months I stopped my school career as I felt it didn't suit me! Then I started a culinary school in Parma, in the heart of the food valley!! In fact, as a typical Italian, I love cooking and eating good food :))
I like that kind of acts which give people a part of mine, I think this can be possibile by cooking delicious food for people I love!!

I would really love to share all the beautiful places and things of Italy with you, surfers!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I would love to travel around the world to know and live in different cultures and places, rounded by different people and friends. I'd like to share my interests and traditional values of mine. I'm looking forward to meet you, folks! :))

There was a period when I felt like I was in a trap here in Cremona, feeling inside me the huge desire to travel, just go out from here. Unfortunately I haven't had many travel experience, but growing up I hope I'll have more of it. Travelling and cooking fro other people are my passions!!

Interests

I've played guitar and piano for about six years. I am often interested in technology and computers.

I really love cooking thus I've been working in a restaurant for one months. I'm keen on reading classics books and Italian literature, moreover I like to be always well-informed on current events and political news.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite genres are rock, blues, jazz and classical music.
My favorite movie is "The Good, the bad and the ugly" by Sergio Leone.
Some of my favorite books are "Crime and punishment" by Dostoevskij; "A man" by Oriana Fallaci.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing things I've done regard the cooking school I attended on March-May 2014:

- I filleted an entire 8kg salmon, after having scaled it and so many fishes!
- I killed and filleted an eel.
- During the classes about poultry, I deboned more or less 80 different species of fowls and games in a week.
- I deboned an entire veal rack, an entire lamb and suckling pig!
- Cooked about seventy eggs dishes in a hour!!
