About Me

I’m a young and laid-back guy from the Italian part of Switzerland and looking forward to experience the Couchsurfing world. I’m a bit shy and quiet at first, but open up easily when I’m comfortable. My background is science, I have a PhD in chemistry and materials science and worked as a senior scientist at ETH Zürich, but do not mistake me for the typical scientist: I enjoy my life as much as I can and I’m always up for partying. I’m always up to meet new people and I have an open mind. I’m very sporty and try to keep in shape as much as I can by going to the gym.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to experience the locals and their culture and exchange our point of views (with maximum respect), hopefully creating new friendships around the world. I’m not looking for hook-ups here, there are other platforms for that. I’m an independent person and I respect the independence of the host. I ideally look for flexible hosts who are willing to share a key so that it’s easier to hang out together or be independent.

Interests

I’m a gamer. I started gaming when I was 3 yo with the NES. Despite being busy with work, I still have quite some skills. I love to keep myself in shape, and practice sport constantly. I enjoy being outdoors especially at the beach. I love politics and science and have a strong interest about the deepest questions of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love electronic music, but not really what falls into the current ‘edm’ definition. My favorite genre is the complete spectrum of trance, going from progressive all the way to the psy beats, plus melodic techno. I love music festivals and been to Tomorrowland 11 times. I do not read many books apart from scientific publications but enjoy watching movies and tv series, especially thrillers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m quite a travelled, educated and experienced person, who very much enjoys to bring a smile to people’s faces. If you have any science related question, shoot! :) I’m also good in the kitchen.
