Présentation
À propos de moi
First off, I’m terrible about describing myself, but if I had to give it a shot I’d say I’m talkative, down to earth, I have respectable general knowledge and am pretty easy going when it comes to making friends. I have lived and travelled to a few overseas countries, so I’m quite comfortable around different cultures.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing seems like an ideal way to understand and experience different cultures and people.
When you are in your home country, you only experience your own culture, associating with your friends and family, what you know and are comfortable with. When you are in another country, your cultural experience is watered down in hotels/hostels. Couchsurfing seems like a nice way to meet new people in your country and immerse yourself in the culture of others.
Centres d'intérêt
LOVE to dance, I know a few styles, but my favourite is Rock and Roll (kind of like a faster version of Six-Count Swing). You will regularly find me at dance events in Sydney.
Conversations are great too! They are the best way to find out about people, get to know them. Everyone has a story to tell and everyone’s story is different! That’s part of what makes talking to other people great, each conversation is different.
Ice Hockey and Cricket are my sports interest.
I also love to read, it is my escape from the world. No matter how I’m feeling, a good book will immerse me in its material and allow me to forget about the day-to-day grind.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My favourite music changes all the time, but I mostly like songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
My favourite movies are only two: Ferris Buller’s Day Off and Love Actually
It's difficult for me to pick my favourite book, but my top three are John Scalzi's Redshirts, Andy Weir’s The Martian and John Wyndham’s The Day of the Triffids.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Easily one of the most amazing things I've done is hiking the Flørli Stairs in Norway. The hike was physically challenging enough that completing it was a reward in and of itself, but not so physically challenging that you had to be superhuman to complete it. Once you reach the top of the stairs, the views out over the Lysefjord are amazing! Unspoilt natural beauty as far as the eye can see.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I’m always looking to learn about different cultures, it’s really interesting to find out about the differences in peoples’ views on the world. I’m also happy to talk about most anything, so I’m more than willing to share any knowledge, experiences or cultural insights that anyone might be willing to listen to. In terms of teaching, I used to teach swimming and dancing, so if people are really keen, I’m happy to teach them those too!
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
Insight into different cultural aspects of Australia. Australians abroad tend to portray only one aspect of their own culture, however, being a child of an immigrant family, the culture that I grew up in was and is different to the stereotypically Australian one. Fundamentally it is still an Australian culture, but it features a strong undercurrent of Italian culture too.
