About Me

I'm a 30 years old Brazilian, who was born and raised in the wounder of Rio de Janeiro. I have just finished a one year period managing an ecological hostel in Valparaíso, Chile, and now I am in a travel around northern Chile, Bolívia and Perú. My goal is to get in touch with locals and connect with local artists. I am looking forward building up a network that I can use to my next venture: a cultural agency that takes Latin-American artists to Brazil!

Finally...I'm new in this hahaha I'm looking forward meeting up nice people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is the best way to actually meet locals. Although I like hostels vibe (in fact, I managed one!), I would rather prefer to establish ties with locals. That way I could go deeper at local culture and learn more about the places I am visiting.

Interests

I really like to get in touch with local habits, which ranges from politics to music scene and cuisine.

My education was more focused on politics and economics. A BA in International Relations in Rio de Janeiro and a MsC in Economic History in Buenos Aires. Plus, I have worked with international cooperation and political journalism. However, in the last year I managed an ecological hostel, which was a terrific experience.

I also like a lot to try local food. Best case scenario I would learn from a local how to prepare a typical dish. Besides cooking and eating, I like drinking. Artisanal breweries are always at my bucket list in a city I am visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

This isn't an easy task, but I should mention "Cinema Paradiso", "El Secreto de Sus Ojos", "Amores Possíveis" and "Manhattan". But I prefer to list some nice directors, such as Juan José Campanella, Woody Allen, Charles Chaplin, Vicente Amorim, Eduardo Coutinho, Fernando Meirelles, Victorio de Sica, Fellini and much others. The last movie that I saw that trully amazed me was "Una Mujer Increíble" from the Chilean moviemaker Sebastian Lelio.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running a hostel was really amazing guys hahaha. I moved to Chile without knowing not even the neighbour and one year later I left so many trully friends. This is amazing to me: to have the opportunity of working and making friends at the same time.

Besides from that, I would say that daily life is so fulfilled with amazing events and we don´t even notice it. Sometimes, we get ourselves pursuing some great and escapist moments, but usually the amazing thing we do every day is to walk the dog, look throughout the window, be kind to random people, go to the market, talk to you neighbour. It's like someone once said: "small things, there is nothing bigger"

Teach, Learn, Share

I like sharing my own experiences and talking about things I have learned. But the most important thing to me is to learn from the others. We should always share our thoughts and impressions so that everyone can benefit from our mistakes and accomplishments.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a very easygoing guest, eager to learn about every feature of the places I visit. from its legends and music to its history and economy. I can share the knowledge and culture of my own country and the ones I have lived in. Maybe I can give some piece of advice about music, theater, cinema, Brazilian beers or must-do touristic experiences.
