🇬🇧 Hello everyone! My name is Marco, I grew up in Siena (Tuscany, IT), and last year I moved to Bologna, where I study philosophy at the university. I like sports (especially playing volleyball) and training, but I also love to relax and to have long talks with my friends. I love to meet new people and to listen to their stories. I spent a year abroad (cultural exchange year) in the United States and I have traveled in some places in my life; opening up my mind traveling has always been important to me. I adapt and I am easily satisfied, I don't have high standards and I love challenges.

🇬🇧 I listen to a lot of music and I like many different genres. It isn't easy to choose, although I can say that lately I've been listening to a lot of rock, indie, and electronic music.
I love old black-and-white movies, one of my favorites is "We All Loved Each Other So Much" by Ettore Scola. Despite this, I am also very passionate about "Star Wars" and other cult films such as "Forrest Gump", "Fight Club", and "The Truman show".
My absolute favorite book is "Siddhartha" by Herman Hesse but I also really like "Questa storia" by Baricco and "One, No One, and One Hundred Thousand" by Pirandello.

🇮🇹 Ascolto molta musica e mi piacciono tanti generi differenti. È difficile scegliere, anche se posso dire che ultimamente sto ascoltando molta musica rock, indie, ed elettronica.
Amo i vecchi film in bianco e nero, uno dei miei preferiti è "C'eravamo tanto amati" di Ettore Scola. Nonostante questo sono anche molto appassionato di "Star Wars" e di altri film cult come "Forrest Gump", "Fight club", e "The truman show".

🇬🇧 One “amazing” thing I did was my year abroad in the United States. When I was sixteen I spent ten months in Texas with a host family. It was difficult for me to change everything, to find myself in a different country, and to speak a language that wasn't my native. Despite this, I managed to face the difficult moments and to find my “balance”. I am pleased with how much I grew in those months and with the friends I made.

🇮🇹 Una cosa "incredibile" che ho fatto è stato il mio anno all'estero negli Stati Uniti. A sedici anni mi sono cimentato in questa esperienza ed ho passato dieci mesi in Texas con una famiglia ospitante. È stato difficile per me cambiare tutto, ritrovarmi in un paese totalmente diverso, e parlare per un anno una lingua che non fosse la mia nativa, ma nonostante questo sono riuscito ad affrontare i momenti difficili ed a trovare il mio equilibrio. Sono molto contento di quanto io sia cresciuto in quei mesi e delle amicizie che sono riuscito a stringere.

🇬🇧 I like learning new languages ​​and listening to people's stories. I love sharing what I think and what I know, but I don't think I'm wise enough to "teach" anyone anything yet; despite this, I certainly like to talk about many things and topics and it is easy for me to find people interesting.

🇮🇹 Mi piace imparare nuove lingue ed ascoltare le storie delle persone. I know that hosting is not easy and I would like to minimize all the bother a guest could cause. I don't need to be a "guest" in that way, and indeed, for any problem or request I would truly appreciate the most complete clearness.

🇮🇹 Ai padroni di casa che mi ospitano sono pronto ad offrire tutto l'aiuto che serve.
