About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Empowering people. Being a great dad and husband.
ABOUT ME
I'm a cartoonist and editor in a newspaper I helped to create.
I was born old but have slowly learnt to become younger. My mission in this life is to achieve wisdom and peace of mind. Hopefully contributing to the improvement of my country.
I enjoy a good conversation, good coffee and delicious food. Talking to interesting people over a good dinner followed by a nice cup of coffee is my idea of a great time. And travelling, of course!
PHILOSOPHY
Guess right now it is: "Go for it, dammit!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We surf. We host. We offer information and advice if we can't host. We attend the occasional CS meeting (specially when travelling).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My wife Catalina (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/catakaoe/) and I have surfed in New Zealand, Thailand, South Korea and Japan, gone to meetings in Auckland and spread the word to any traveller that seems to have what it takes to be a good host / guest. In Korea we learned a lot about hospitality (and "guestpitality"). We are now offering to host people in our flat in Santiago, we are proud to say that, so far, our guests have enjoyed their time with us.

Music, Movies, and Books
MOVIES: I'm a cinephile, so I have about a 100 "favorite" films.
MUSIC: I'm more of indie rock/pop guy, although I have a fair amount of latin, swing, soul, folk, hip-hop, electronic and classic music in my collection. Can't stand teen-boys-bands, any kind of singer that thinks the way to improve a song is to add 16 notes where there was only one, and reggaeton.
BOOKS: Used to be a novels guy (Graham Greene, Hermann Hesse, Stephen King, Isabel Allende, García Marquez, Gustavo Ruiz Zafón, Hernán Riviera Letelier, José Donoso, Albert Camus, Tostoi, Dostoyevsky, George R.R. Martin, etc.) but right now I find it more interesting to read self-improvement and theory books about graphology, GTD system, mnemotechnics, speed-reading, psychology, marketing, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Asking Cati to marry me. Seeing the sun set in front of Wat Arun in Thailand from the Chao Phraya river; walking around Angkor Ruins; eating by the river in Hoi An; crossing a street in Hanoi. Couchsurfing in Korea. Wandering around in Japan.
Teach, Learn, Share
Drawing and scripting a comic strip. Spanish language. Good design concepts and software use. I'm usually quite useful discussing personal-life-problems and helping find a solution.
