About Me

"I'm an educated man; the prisons I know are subtle ones. And, of course, poetry and prisons have always been neighbors." (Los detectives salvages, Roberto Bolaño)

"O senhor saiba: eu toda a minha vida pensei por mim, forro, sou nascido diferente. Eu sou é eu mesmo. Divêrjo de todo o mundo... Eu quase que nada não sei. Mas desconfio de muita coisa." (Riobaldo, Grande Sertão: Veredas)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The japanese alps are one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I'm quite biased, as I love mountains, but who doesn't... Traveled alone to 29 countries, 3 continents and still counting. Scuba dived in Thailand, Cambodia and in a ship wreck from the 2nd world war in Bali. Did bungy jump in Chiang Mai... 50 meters, though. Rode a bike on the infamous Death road in Coroico, Bolivia, from -5ºC in the summit to +25ºC at the bottom. Ate the best sushi of my life in Tsukiji market (the biggest in the world), in Tokyo, after waiting for 2 hours and a half on the queue. Traveled in Myanmar for 3 weeks, met amazing people that I would never forget and saw the most beautiful sky at night on the top of the mountains after trekking there and sleeping in a monastery. Hiked on trails in Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Taiwan and Japan. Learned to cook very different styles, from cambodian curries to french croissants. Slept in a capsule hotel. Flew over the swiss alps. I also ate some very strange things, ask me hahah... Surfing everyday in Bali and being awarded with an amazing sunset, every single day! Went to Thailand on Songkran (new year) without even knowing about and it turned out to be one of the best experiences in my travels. Everybody was so happy for three whole days playing with water guns and buckets in the streets... Unforgettable. I was invited to dinner with a traditional turkish family in Istanbul during the Ramadan, which was both delicious and interesting. If buildings are to be quoted, I have to say that Shwedagon pagoda, in Yangon, Myanmar, is the most amazing of all. Two more things: Angkor Wat is nothing compared to Bagan and Machu Picchu is much more interesting if seen from the top of Wayna Picchu (2720m). And last but not least, I visited some amazing expositions in Helmut Newton's museum, in Berlin; Cartier-Bresson museum in Paris and Word Press Photo 2013 exposition on Tokyo Metropolitan museum of Photography.

I'll put more as soon as I remember... I'm very keen to start my advanced course and specialize in cave diving, in Mexico, but also looking forward to learn more about Persian culture in beautiful Iran. I would really like to visit Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe/Zambia) in the dry season and be able to swim on the devil's pool (mwahahah), on the top of the waterfalls.
