About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling through SE Asia. Out for an adventure, while working on my photography skills at https://www.marcosbyttebier.com/

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm an calm, easy going, and reliable person who loves the outdoors and a good adventure. With a love for good food and wine, fine humor, music and genuine smiles! A bit introvert, yet eager to listen to any inspiring story or climb the nearest mountain.

PHILOSOPHY

Things I value most are health, family, friends and craft. I believe in integrity and no nonsense. Beyond that, I seek for growth, thrilling experiences and some good ol' fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've found the best way to experience a new country is connecting with local peeps. Throughout my travels, I've lived abroad in Sweden, backpacked through Norway and Peru, roadtripped in Iceland - this allowed me to meet incredible people having a profound impact on my life and thinking. Life is just way better when shared :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - a whole lot, some favorites: Radiohead, Matt Corby, Pink Floyd, Alexi Murdoch, Ludovico Einaudi, Moby, José González, Pink Floyd, Daft Punk, Florence & the Machine, Pearl Jam, Artic Monkeys, Joe Satriani, Iron Maiden, Deadmau5, Parov Stelar. Loving the occasional concert.

Reading - a ton! Biographies, classic literature, books on philosophy, society, psychology, economics, ... My favourite books of all time include Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, Enlightment Now by Steven Pinker, Sapiens and Homo Deus by Harari, Shogun by James Clavell, and the graphic novel Bone by Jeff Smith.

Series and films - I love to watch so-called intelligent story lines with unexpected plot twists. I enjoyed: Breaking Bad, Death Note, Silicon Valley, Rick and Morty, Narcos, the Money Heist, BBC Life, Planet Earth I & II, documentaries on political and social issues.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a chief camp leader for kids, sleeping in the woods and showering in the river!
