Hi, I’m Marcos. I’m a law and political science student. I always said I wanted to be a traveler when I was a kid.
I was living in Mexico for over a year, I went on academic exchange. But there I met Dezna, my girlfriend, and that’s why I have been able to return there often. This profile is almost from Dezna and me, we travel together almost always. We don’t like to stand still.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

the thing I least like about the universe are massive tourism. I think they encourage some behaviors that I don’t agree with. That’s why, when I travel, I try to leave little trace and learn a lot from where I am.

Since I discovered Couchsurfing I found it a beautiful idea. Being able to meet someone local and sharing a few days together is a very nice thing..

Lo que menos me gusta del universo son los centros turísticos. Creo que fomentan ciertos comportamientos con los que no estoy de acuerdo. Por eso, cuando viajo, intento dejar poca huella y aprender mucho de donde estoy.

Desde que descubrí Couchsurfing me pareció una idea preciosa. Poder coincidir con alguien local y compartir unos días juntos es algo muy agradable..

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is the art that I enjoy most and "consume", I am a faithful visitor of festivals and concerts. The genre I like most is indie, in any language other than English or French (not for nothing, but for seeing new and different things that we are used to).
Of course I love watching movies, although it’s an act I like to do in a social way, because if I’m just prefer to watch series... I find them deeper and enjoy the plot more.
And the books I read are, above all, about poetry. I am a fan of poetry. And even more fan of short stories or stories. Although, obviously, a good novel is always a good companion in my summer vacation when I have time to rest and disconnect.
Finally, the theater is the great forgotten, so I try to go often... it’s nice to see such a human and bodily art.

La música es el arte que más disfruto y "consumo", soy un fiel visitante de festivales y conciertos. El género que más me gusta es el indie, en cualquier idioma menos inglés o francés (no por nada, sino por ver cosas nuevas y diferentes a las que estamos acostumbrados).
Por supuesto adoro ver películas, aunque es un acto que me gusta hacer de manera social, porque si estoy sólo prefiero ver series... me parecen más profundas y disfruto más la trama.
Y los libros que leo son, sobre todo, de poesía. Soy fan de la poesía. Y más fan aún de los relatos cortos o cuentos. Aunque, obviamente, un buena novela siempre es un buen acompañante en mis vacaciones de verano cuando tengo tiempo de descanso y desconexión.
Por último, el teatro es el gran olvidado, por lo que intento ir a menudo... es agradable ver un arte tan tan humano y corporal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve done a lot of amazing things, I love adventures and I don’t miss any chances. I have traveled to Berlin for only a few hours (one night) to party there, I have traveled to the jungle without planning anything, I have slept in cars in the middle of cities, I have run out of money in Cuba on Christmas day, I have gone to music festivals alone, I have traveled to the center of Africa, I have celebrated new year in a village lost from a mountain of Colombia... I’ve definitely lived here!

He hecho muchas cosas increíbles, me encantan las aventuras y no dejo escapar ninguna oportunidad. He viajado a Berlin por sólo unas horas (una noche) para salir de fiesta allí, he viajado a la selva sin planear nada, he dormido en coches en medio de ciudades, me he quedado sin dinero en Cuba en el día de Navidad, he ido a festivales de música solo, he viajado al centro de África, he celebrado año nuevo en un pueblo perdido de una montaña de Colombia... En definitiva he vivido!!
