About Me

Hi! I'm Marc, born just 33 years ago right in the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. As many of you I love to travel (surprise!) and in 2012 I decided to leave my hometown and try the nomadic way of life: moving from one country to another discovering what the world has for me. I've been living so far in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Andorra, Poland and Georgia (Sakartvelo) ! :)

You can follow my adventures on Instagram :) @marcmcfry

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said, I started my dream of living nowhere and everywhere at the same time, working here now, there tomorrow, trying to visit as much as of this world as I can, and meeting as much nice people as possible.
As I said, I truly believe in exchange as a new engine for this world.

Interests

We can talk about everything, I love to meet interesting people that can teach me something new.
Besides cycling and hiking, I practice some strange sports such as skydiving and curling. I also like drawing, photography and learning languages.
I believe in the exchange philosophy and I would love to trade my pics, sketches or stories for food, bed, or more stories, in my next journeys :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I can listen almost everything, my musical tastes go from Classical to Deep House. We would have interesting conversations about it.
Here you have a movie lover, my favourite one is Gattaca (in your shortlist from now, if you haven't watched it) and the King of the writers is Stephen, love-hate relationship with him and his books but a big fan indeed.
I love to test tv shows, all kinds, and discover hidden gems among the indy, commercial or just unknown categories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going from Amsterdam to Vilnius through Scandinavia, alone by bicycle, has become the most amazing thing I've done so far.
I would say leaving everything and embracing the nomad lifestyle had been another great thing. Working in Barcelona, Netherlands and Andorra last years, maybe Bosnia next year, who knows if Peru or Iceland some months from now too.
Winning a medal in skydiving is another one of them, I discovered another mindset being able to fly with friends, feeling totally free for a minute, I cannot describe with another word but MAGIC. Also being, along with my teammates, Spanish Curling Champion of second division, and yeah, we play curling in Spain.
Three years ago I walked totally alone from the Pyrenees to the Atlantic Ocean, and that, that was another curve in my life, totally crucial.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you everything about how I see this life "semi-off the grid" that I decided to live. I like to see it as the alternative, living exactly the life I want to live.
I love to tell stories, things that happened to me, tales, or reading to people who wants to listen. I can share that. And teach you some Spanish, Catalan or Galician, of course!
And learn, about everything! Since that is not possible, I would say that I love languages, and if you teach me some words of yours, I would remember them and be happy to use them in real life :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share good moments, stories, different opinions, a glass of something without alcohol (preferably), nice background music, a trek, travel tips, and also, motivation. I want to think that I can be remembered in a good way if someone meets me, something I said, something I made them discover, something they will remember. I'm not a smoker but I don't care if you do so, also mine a kid-friendly place and pets are welcome :)
