ABOUT ME

We're a young family determined not to "settle down." Since August 2012 we've been figuring out how to be parents to our son Cohen, and think it's important that he grows up with an appreciation of the diverse cultures and people that make up this world of ours. We eventually want to travel the world, but in the meantime we love meeting new people and hearing their stories.

PHILOSOPHY

Embrace the adventure this life offers. Chase big dreams and seek to live epically...but appreciate the little things and take time to enjoy each moment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Keen to host people and help them experience the best of New Zealand. We travelled through Europe for a month when Cohen was 10 months old, doing a bit of couchsurfing throughout the trip.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through both hosting and surfing we have had wonderful experiences getting to know new people and learning a lot about other cultures.

We love the outdoors, and enjoy hiking, camping, running, snowboarding and wakeboarding. We also enjoy coffee dates, hanging with friends, boardgames, reading and music.

Our time for this stuff has shrunk dramatically since Cohen arrived on the scene. Generally enjoy movies, books and music that 'stir the soul,' but sometimes blobbing out to a mindless movie or novel is bliss.

Holding a child knowing it is your very own to teach, to guide and to inspire. Quite a huge responsibility, but also a unique privilege. And exciting to dream about the adventures and experiences we will get to share.

Teach = How to make Southland cheese rolls, play ticket to ride, and change a nappy.

Learn = We would love hear advice on travelling, particularly travelling with kids.

Share = We've travelled quite a lot within NZ, so can let you in on a few secret spots.
