About Me

I give everything a try, even things like those horribly cheesy swan boats you see on lakes for tourists, which, turns out are super fun when you race them across the water!

Born in Canada, raised by a wandering family who ended up in Portugal and lived in Singapore.

When I was a child I told my mom I'd never leave my hometown (fun fact: it is the home of the largest hockey stick in the world). Then she moved to Portugal and everything changed. Now you'll find me wandering the world on the hunt for the best custard tart.

I'm always down for new and shared experiences. It's how I've picked up hobbies like stunt kiting, dodgeball and making chocolate.

Give me a holler if you're ever in town and we can grab a meal. Or if you're interested and the weather is kind, I can teach you how fly a stunt kite!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To show people the delicious wonders of Canadian maple syrup.

Not to mention it is the best way to exchange travel stories and learn new things.

Interests

I am always interested in learning about and trying new foods -- one of the quirks of being raised by a family of chefs.

Always interested in trying out new activities and I have a penchant for talking about all things geeky, hockey (I can't help being Canadian), and adventure-oriented. Oh, and I like taking naps too. Naps are great.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'd call listening to Ke$ha a guilty pleasure, but the reality is that it is just a straight pleasure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once wrote a column/quiz for Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Accidentally became a male model at the age of 8 years old when I walked onto a catwalk in a mall.

Talked about tracking Snow Leopards with a National Geographics photographer while in queue for the urinal.

Teach, Learn, Share

What it's like to live in Canada, Portugal and/or Singapore. Things to do, food to eat, and cultural dos and donts!

Dodgeball, seriously. I once coached our team to the city finals.

Chocolate Ganache. If we can find the ingredients, I can help change your dessert world. Warning: Success WILL lead to delicious weight gains.

Boardgames. Want to try out a new boardgame? Chances are I've played it before and can teach you the rules.

Stunt Kite. Ever flown a Delta wing stunt kite? It's easy to learn and a fun way to spend a day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a true Canadian, I typically travel around with 100% pure Canadian maple syrup -- mostly to confirm stereotypes and show people how delicious it can be.

Also, I'm super clean, good with electronics and can cook. Take me up on it!
