My name is Marcus but I go by Marco. I recently graduated from high school in a beach down in the central coast of California. I love nature and everything about it: camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, you name it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am taking a gap year this year to travel and work in Europe for 6 months and in that time I would love to meet the locals of many different places and Couchsurfing seems like one of the best ways.

Music, Movies, and Books

I hate to be cliche, but I would say I listen to all types of music it goes from hard rap to reggae to punk rock to indie to techno. Some of my favorite books are Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, the Maze Runner series by James Dashner, and Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger. I can never really pick out a favorite movie because I like so many and forget a lot of them but when out on the spot I would say my favorite movie is Baby Driver directed by Edgar Wright.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As seen in one of the profile pictures I included I have a three wheeled golf cart that I made from scratch that is street legal, safe, and reliable. I am really proud of it because it is the biggest project I have worked on and I gained a lot of engineering experience out of it which is what I want to go into when I am older.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn the languages in the different regions in Europe and learn about what a normal day in the life of people is like. I would also love to hear about other peoples stories and where they have travelled.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the stories from my many travels while I travel through all of Europe this fall and would love to cook dinner for you! (Unfortunately America doesn’t have many exciting dishes but I’ll make a dish my family often makes).
