About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience real things. Get off the internet, abstract ideas and my own head. Hello reality!

ABOUT ME

Grew up in a small town in Sweden, got my degree in the nearby city of Norrköping. Never started working within my field (environmental science), but started traveling instead and studying languages.

Backpacked in asia and central america, staying 6 months in Guatemala for Spanish studies. Later moved to Alicante, Spain to continue Spanish learning and work in a cafe.

Moved to Berlin to continue with German studies. I had studied German in school for 5 years but could still not say a single correct sentence, which was a little embarrassing. So I moved in to a shared house with 5 other people and found work plowing snow in an industrial area.

Came back to Sweden after the economic crisis hit Spain in 2008. I moved to Stockholm and worked within random jobs such as sales, train maintenance and carpentry.

I tend to get tired of things I do after 6 months or so, and then I hop on to some other job.

PHILOSOPHY

I used to strive a lot to reach some sort of personal self-actualization or self-discovery. I am starting to realize that it doesn't give me any peace of mind or calmness which is what I actually want.

So I've started working more on being in the present and feeling calm instead of glorifying some idealized situation/state in the future.

I still like to reach goals and evolve though. Maybe that's why I like languages a lot cause you can measure your progress and get feedback when you climb up. It has a built in delayed gratification. Plus it's a huuuuge reward when you start getting to the level "useable" and above.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm up for some long distance cycling in the summer, and would be nice to meet some ppl who can show me around their towns. Housing accomodation not neccessary! I have my own tent with me and I'm fine with bush-camping in the forrest (standard sleep method for my longer bike-travels

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Little experience from couch surfing until now, although I met a lot of people who are great supporters so I thought I'd give it a try

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Long tour bicycling between sweden and spain alone. Took 2 months and 3000km distance. Great experience and something I will always remember. I am into pushing mental and physical barriers.
