About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Improve my French language skills...
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Germany, lived and worked in the US for a few years before returning to Europe in 2009. After a few years in the Netherlands, I recently moved to France. Traveling and languages (currently working on French) fascinate me as they allow me to meet new people and share unique experiences. It is great to be back in Europe where you can easily spend a weekend in a different country.
It doesn't take much to make me happy. Let me enjoy a nice meal accompanied by a good glass of wine or beer in friendly company and I am a happy camper.
PHILOSOPHY
"Life goes on". I know it is easier said than done at times but keeping this in mind in difficult situations does help.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Whenever I travel I try to make use of the Couchsurfing concept which is primarily not about finding a place to sleep but rather about staying with a local, spending time with your host, sharing experiences and discovering things that are (ideally) new to you and new to your host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm still fairly new to CouchSurfing and, as an open-minded and curious individual, look forward to meeting interesting people and sharing a laugh or two...
Interests
Languages and Traveling; pretty much everything that enables me to discover and learn more about other countries and their cultures.
I really enjoy discovering new restaurants and cuisines, am a big fan of brunches and taking time to savor food in general. Enjoying a well prepared cocktail in a setting with live music is a favorite way to end a night out.

Music, Movies, and Books
Fascinated by Alfred Hitchcock and his movies. Two of my "more recent" favorites are "Dead Poets Society" and "Le Scaphandre et le Papillon".
I also love documentaries. I'll watch any documentary if the topic is covered in an authentic and genuine way. I find the French-German TV Channel Arte to be a pretty reliable source of those.
