About Me

Instagram @marcusouza.93

If you are looking for a place to sleep ONE or TWO nights in a place between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, to know a different city, drink some beers, talk about anything and maybe have a original Brazilian BBQ, you found it right now.

Hey guys!

I'm Marcus, a Brazilian man with 25 years old natural of São José dos Campos (The best description to this city is: "the best and bigger city between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo)

after traveling for 8 months around Europe with workaway (Like a volunteer worker ) just to learn English and all the things that's possible I'm back in my country to use everything that I learned and help people that needs(You can see a bit more about me and my references here: https://www.workaway.info/workawayerprofile.html?w=marcussouza)

Basically I can describe me like a person that love football, trips and meet new things ,hot and fresh coffee, cold beer and video games :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In January 2016, I realized that I needed to learn English, first to help myself professionally, second to help me with my travels, so I took all my savings (that isn't a lot) and came to England in February 2017. So I'm living as a workaway (Which basically helps the host in exchange for accommodation and food) and the money I brought I try to use with travel to get to know a little more of the UK and then Europe.

So I do not have a lot money to pay for hostels, So I just can to contribute in some way with some help or with couchsurfing

I also think couchsurfing is a great way to meet new people and enjoy new experiences and stories.

And when I return to Brazil, I will make my house available so that travelers like me can have a place to spend one or two nights and if possible show some of the place I live.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie - Effect Butterfly (only the number 1) and all Marvel movies

Music - I like electronic music, and Brazilian music (sertanejo and pagode) but also like "old rock" (Red Hot chili peppers, Coldplay, Linkpark, Green day...)

my free time with a TV, I prefer watch a football all championship as possible :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think leaving my home, friends, family and girlfriend in Brazil and go to Europe alone without knowing the language and without much money was something amazing for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm willing to learn everything possible (for exemple, with the workaway I learned how to use a chainsaw, build a house with pallets, how care a dog, clean a hostel...) so everything is learning will be welcome

I also can teach Portuguese, some advices about my region or Brazil and I think that I can give any advices about the countries as I visited.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can be willing to help with simple day to day tasks, my English is not very good, then maybe I will need a bit more time to understand what you like.
I also can offer to cook some Brazilian sweet or Omelete 😂 besides share my histories and a bit about my culture
