About Me

Born and raised in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. I have traveled all over the United States, and spent some time living in the southern states. I'm oldish, in a serious relationship, without kids and always looking for an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My partner and I are easy going people who love to travel. We prefer to experience where we visit, rather than stay in some fancy resort. We are always excited to be shown around town, but are also content with being on our own. We prefer the economy of the couch surfing society and it’s symbiotic nature.

Interests

So many interests. I love science, and nature. Comedy, music, theater, art, performance art. Politics. The environment. People. Relationships. Philosophy. History. So much. I just love to be alive and I'm always trying to make the most out of my short time here.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music in many forms. It's a universal language that can speak to so many. Movies? Love Shawshank Redemption, Lost in Translation, Life is beautiful, Waynes World, Austin Powers, anything by Wes Andersen. I really like movies.
Books? I like to read, but I don't really have any specific favorite books. I do, however, have some favorite authors. Kurt Vonnegut, Hunter S. , and Stephen King are my top three.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done some things that might be considered amazing to some, but it's all relative. I organize a theme camp at Burning Man ( a festival in Northern Nevada). This is a passion of mine and I absolutely love the human connection I create by doing this. It's fantastic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a Chef by trade so I can cook, teach to cook, share recipes, etc, etc.
I love to play music. I can "jam". I have so many stories, but I won't bore you with them unless you ask. I know how to do all sorts of crafty and practical things that need doing.
I want to learn about other peoples lives and ideologies. I want to learn some more skills. I want to see things that I never even imagined might exist. I wanna see life through a different lens.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I said above, I have a variety of things I can share. I'll even help you fix that darn broken thing that needs fixing.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
