I love to travel and see new places, meet new people. I haven't been able to do that as much lately, except for work, as I'm looking after my recently widowed mom who moved nearby.

I'm single, so when not working we usually have dinner together and I enjoy taking her dog on walks and playing with her.

I love to cook healthy, mostly plant based meals, love sushi as I still eat fish.

My hobbies are photography (for which I occasionally get paid), billiards, horseback riding and hiking. I really enjoy being outdoors in nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted several people recently on the queen futon in my living room, and have been hosted by friends from time to time, and have mostly found it to be a rewarding experience. I prefer to stay in a warm, friendly home than a hotel or hostel (which I've done often), and - since I'm rarely there when traveling or working away from home - it makes sense to keep my housing costs down.

I enjoy meeting all sorts of people, and learn from each experience or chance encounter.
