About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to get around, meet &enjoy time with other earthdwellers
ABOUT ME
I like:
plays, doing dramatic things on & off stage...
Floating in cool water on a sunny day...
growing sunflowers...potatoes...green beans
animals (except sharks...and only the big ones that can eat you)
meeting people and having a laugh with them
reading x 99999
the idea of fishing (for fish to eat not as a sport) but unfortunately I haven't been able to do that for years.
Other stuff:
I keep pretending that I will get fit again with sporadic visits to the gym.
I like value for money, and don't waste much.
I have a daughter who lives in Canada, three sons who live in Germany, and two ex-wives who still talk to me!
there's a lot more, but what would there be to talk about if it was all here?
PHILOSOPHY
live, laugh, cry- and enjoy them all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I became a member of couch surfing after attending the Berlin Beach camp. I have hosted twice, been a guest in Detroit-100% positive -although it really was a couch ( at my age a nice comfy bed is preferable). Just beginning to get more involved.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
host and guest.Loved walking 3 miles from host to centre of Detroit-and playing soccer with Corktown team.

Music, Movies, and Books
Film:Il Postino,Gladiator, La Strada, The 400 Blows (A Bout de Souffle), Yojimbo and most of its derivatives (and by extension most Kurosawa movies), and many more.
Music: eclectic but not most modern pop. Frank Zappa to Aerosmith and back via Stevie Wonder. I have a vinyl LP of the Sugarhill gang doing Rappers Delight which is about the only rap I like.
Books: all of Graham Greene
most of Charles Dickens
most of Mario Vargas Lhosa
some of Terry Pratchett
The Shadow of the Wind
The Baker's Boy
and many many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gone on stage as a Japanese lord to audience of 1000 or so. Hiked down the Grand Canyon and swam in the Colorado river.. Seen the sunrise over the Pillars of Hercules from the nose turret of a Shackleton reconnaissance aircraft while flying into Gibraltar.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have had some great workshops in drama. I also think that I can give good workshops in drama and theatre technique. My cooking from scratch with basic ingredients is quite good, although I tend towards simple quick dishes rather than elaborately French or "new" cuisine. I like a variety of colours on the plate but not a Miro or Picasso.
Countries I’ve Visited
Andorra, Australia, Czech Republic
