Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Marek. I love emotional and atmospheric music. Especially experimental stuff! I'm currently transitioning from being a deep listener of music to actually creating music.
I also enjoy performing improv comedy, reading, artsy movies, psychology, drawing, dancing, and singing. While I can be shy sometimes, I really enjoy meeting people and learning about what life is like for them. Every year I get less and less shy, sometimes it's barely there, which is nice. :)
I work in software development and so I certainly can appreciate technology, but outside of work I really enjoy nature. It's refreshing to sit or walk somewhere very natural. I've taken up regular meditation too which has made it even better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I simply want to try the experience of staying in someone's home and getting to know them. It seems more authentic than being in a lonely hotel room or something similar.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love art and music that's really emotional, thought-provoking, or simply interesting. I tend to be drawn toward experimental stuff the most but I'm really open to anything really.
Some genres I like: drone, ambient, avant-garde jazz, contemporary classical, electronic, funk, future funk, folk, math rock, progressive rock, black metal, doom metal, drone metal, noise, indie pop, art-pop, art-rap, post-rock, slowcore, alt-R&B/Soul, shoegaze, swing, world, synthpop, blues, and more! I love getting into a new genre, if you have anything you want to introduce me to, I'd be happy to check it out!
For movies, I'm less well versed but I tend toward underground artsy stuff or just something where I like the reviews on letterboxd.com.
Lately I've been reading regularly after a long break but it still feels too early to pick favorites.
