About Me

Hello!
My name is Marek. I come from Poland. I study mechanical engineering as Erasmus student in Lubeck (Germany). I am friendly and open person. I love meeting new people and travelling. I had an internship in Vietnam (I have worked at university and taught english to Vietnamese kids) and China (I have worked in chemical company), where I have meet a lot interesting people and had great adventures. During travelling I am interested in taking part in people everyday live. Recently I have heard about Couchsurfing and it seems perfect for me! I do not require anything else than 2 X 1 meter of carpet (or anything else for sleeping. In Vietnam I have slept on bamboo mat, in China on wooden bed without mattress and it was fine :) ), blanket, access to water and your company :) I would like to meet people from your country, see how do you usually spend time and see the area where you live, not only touristic part :) So far I haven't done couchsurfing as a guest yet (I was a host once, but without knowing that was couchsurfing) require anything else than 2X1 meter of carpet (or anything else for sleeping. In Vietnam I have slept on bamoo mat, in China on wooden bed without materace and it was fine :) ), blanket, access to water and your company :) I would like to meet people from your country, see how do you usually spend time and see the area where you live, not only turistic part :) So far I haven't done couchsurfing as a guest yet (I was a host once, but without knowing that was couchsurfing :P ). Please ask me if you need to know anything else :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to travell and meet people at the same time. I don't want to see all turistic atractions. I want to know how people live and what do they think.

Interests

I know it sounds strange, but I am interested in manufacturing. I like visiting factories and see processes how they produce the product. My favourites visited factories are Airbus Helicopters in France and chocolate factory in Poland.
I also like kayaking and kicker (table football). Recently I spend most of my free time on meeting my new German friends and improving my language skills. When they are busy I go for kicker and I meet new friends ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not really interested in music. Everything else than hip hop is fine for me. I treat music as a background for other activities.
I like Pratchett books, but usually when I grab a random book I am satisfied. I hate horror movies and most romantic comedies (after seeing one you know all of them). My favourite movie is "Boys don't cry". I guess you don't know it, because it is Polish movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Vietnam was the most amazing thing I've done. I lived in Thai Nguyen (north of Vietnam). I took part in social live of those people. I have been a guest of honor at Vietnamese wedding (that was surprising, that I have received better place even than parents of married couple). When I was leaving Vietnam after almost 2 months, I felt like a rock star. I knew most of society in my area so I had to say "hello, how are you?" to people every 10 seconds ;D The most funny is the fact, that almost nobody (meaby 3-5%) in Vietnam speaks english so I could communicate with them only with body language and pictures (my drawing skills stopped improving when I was 6 years old). I have travelled from north of Vietnam to the south. During that time I had a lot of adventures that I can describe when we will meet :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Usually when I travell I use cheap airlines, so I am limited to a small backpack, so I can bring you only something small :( Now I live in Lubeck that is well known for marcepan. I am not the best chef, but I can make a good scruble eggs for breakfest, wash dishes, help with cleaning, chop some wood or help with activities. I can also promise to sent you poscards from my future destinations :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share travelling stories with you :) If you are interested I can also teach you basics of Polish or German launglage. If you have any other ideas just ask me :)
