I enjoy people recommending cool things to do / eat / read / watch / see... Seriously, I love it and welcome it; besides, it's how I get to know the you that you don't necessarily talk about or express consciously. :)

I'm in South Africa right now after working and traveling abroad for a couple of years and I'm super excited to share my country / city with you.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I feel like I've only just started my CSing journey and it has been an overall awesome experience so far. I've hosted vicariously via my boyfriend - he's had a profile for way longer than I have - but I only truly discovered CS when I started traveling with it from my own profile. I really enjoy surfing and meet ups, and I can't wait to host as well!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I started travelling with CSing, I've had amazing experiences, conversations and shifts in perspective. It's the easiest way to start expanding your mind! It's like having friends and family in every single city on Earth.

books: Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Charles Bukowski, Lian Hearn, JRR Tolkien, Wilbur Smith, George RR Martin... Just recently I read and enjoyed Neuromancer and 2312.
I really enjoyed The Floating Book, The Book Thief, End of Mr Y, Timothy Leary's The Delicious Grace of Moving One's Hand.
Mostly fiction... but I'll read an engaging non-fiction too. Carl Sagan was an awesome writer!

My playlists are mostly full of electronica and trap.

Movies... SO many! Most Quentin Tarantino & Guy Richie movies, Stay, Samsara, Moon, Choke, Wristcutters, Belleflower, Domino, Hero, Rose Red, Burn After Reading, V for Vendetta, Trainspotting, Highway, Fear & Loathing, Fight Club, Big Fish, Weekend at Bernie's, Birdcage...
My guilty pleasure is bad action movies...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Swam with a baby black tip reef shark while scuba diving in Bali, Indonesia.
Attended a fireworks festival in Yanshui, Taiwan, where they shoot bottle rockets at the crowd for good luck.

Other than my couch / guest bed, I love cooking and sharing South African cuisine.
I'm busy with a postgrad, so I might not be able to go exploring with you a lot of the time, but I can point you in a couple directions, depending on what you want to do. :)
