ABOUT ME

I think the greatest human ability is to be curious. Curiosity is the key to everything. The key to discover different cultures, to wonder what else is out there. It is the reason why we open the door of our house and step outside. I hope I will never stop being curious.
Sometime ago I did some random questionaire about my personality. By the end of it, it stated that I am "attracted by strange things". That might be about right!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tried to host couchsurfer in my tiny hometown. But it took until my last year in Germany that I finally had my first guests and it was a very nice experience! :)
At the moment, I live in Canada. I will move soon within Hamilton and I will have to see if I will be able to host people at my new place...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was in Bolivia and met some people which I got to know through couchsurfing. That were fun and thoughtful meetings, the special experience was to learn more about the country, politics and traditions. It is important to get in touch with locals and cs is a nice way to make this possible!
Also, I couchsurfed in Hamilton, Canada, and this is the result - I will stay for about four more years. The family I stayed with, they are just amazing and I am deeply thankful that I got to know them.

Interests

I like to travel, meet and talk to people. It is an exciting feeling to be in a city on your own, you discover so much more if it is just you and the surrounding.
At the same time, I like to be at home. Spending time with my horses is one of my greatest pleasures. To be outside in the forest, to breeze fresh air and to listen to the silence.
I also spend a lot of time running. From time to time, I do long distance races, I like the challenge and it's an amazing feeling just running for some hours, having time to just be with yourself and your thoughts. running for me is a kind of meditation, I guess. it's a good contrast to my daily work inside a lab.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like indie, alternative rock. radiohead is the band I never get tired listening to, or James Blake, Sigor Ros, Bon Hiver. I like sharing music. making other people listen to songs that touch my soul can be a great experience. I also love to listen to storytellers, especially while I am doing my long runs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

the best travel I've done in my life was to bolivia. it is such an authentic place. Being in Uyuni feels like being on a different planet.
Another amazing thing I have recently experienced is the winter in Canada. I love the ice cold air in my face and the challenge of camping at really cold temperatures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach unicycling if there is a unicycle handy! I can also show you how to knit, if you are into handcrafting or how to make apple sauce...
