ABOUT ME

I am an explorer and a deep life-liver. I believe in growth and experience and the magic of life. I love to learn, I love to grow, I love to be challenged and scared and excited about life. I put a lot of energy into the world and into my life and I believe that my life is richer because of it. I am passionate about making a difference in the world and I believe in living an intentional, compassionate life of joy.

PHILOSOPHY

Be bold. I live my life to have the fullest experience of it. I take risks and put a lot of love and energy into the people in my life. I believe in random acts of kindness, in generosity and in listening. Art is a good reason to get up in the morning. Color is where its at. I am big time into interconnection and all that jazz. I live to learn, love and to grow. Someday I might work in wilderness/alternative/transformational education, or I might grow things or I might make jewelery or I might be everything all at once. Before then I am living to travel and learn how I can best contribute to the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in CS2 by being made for it. I am at the moment travelling to find my next couch (among other things) but I intend on life long surfing.

I am interested in (in no particular order): simplicity, backpacking, travel, gardening, love, green things, cows, I LOVE COWS, music, snowboarding, friends, community, art, craft, environmental sustainability, social justice, transformational education, love, activism, playfulness, conversations that rip you open and show you gooey cool stuff inside, deep and meaningful connections and relationships, good microbrews...actually even bad ones,probably, rock climbing, independance, interdependance, dance, colorful paper and paste, compassion, growin things, cookin things, generosity, honesty, running, reading, writing, sustainable building...mmmmmm...living life...

Music moves me. Some of the music I love: Matson Jones, Over the Rhine, PoLolo, Ani D (always), liz phair, regina spektor, johnny cash, death cab, patsy cline ( i know its sappy, that's why i heart her), beck, split lip rayfield, alanis morisette, devotchKa, sufjan stevens, tori amos, neko case, new pornographers, the hot IQ's, jolie holland, lauren hill...oh there's so much more...

movies, wow, I love all kinds of movies... some that come to mind are: I heart Huckabees, Baraka, Brokeback Mountain, The Hours, But I'm a Cheerleader, Reservoir Dogs, Pans Labrynth, Boys Don't Cry, What the bleep...gosh, so many more

books, this would take forever, some particularly interesting ones have been anything by Tom Robbins (although Cowgirls was my first so we have a special connection), The House of Spirits, Siddartha, bell hooks fem theory, Cunt, The Giving Tree, The Little Prince ...lotsa others...

I once walked on water...well, more like slid on water, on skis...but it kind of felt miraculous

I have a lot of home repair/ basic carpentry and woodworking skills. I can quilt and sew and craft with pretty much anything. I love to make jewelry and cook yummy food. I am a backpacker at heart. I can write and edit. I know about sustainable living: composting, gardening, using fewer resources creativly. I know a lot about social justice theory and practice and I love to share and learn. Yoga, I like yoga, lotsa different kinds and I know some African dance-mostly ghanian.

I would love to learn more about different ways of seeing the world, more advanced carpentry, bike maintainance, organic farming, co-housing and sucessful communal living... pretty much anything! I am also getting into climbing so would love to work on the rock with anyone...
