Finding my niche in the completely new life I've thrown myself in
ABOUT ME
In November 2012 I moved to Liege. It's by far not the first time I move, but somehow Liege seems to be a hard nut for me to crack...so far it's still a mystery to me. I hope couchsurfing can help me in this challenging and exciting mission.
In regards to what I'm actually like, I think some of the sections below should give you a decent idea...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Recently I have become a vinyl addict. My collection (~200) includes mostly 60s and 70s rock (blues, progressive, hard/classic, folk, a bit of psychedelic) but also some jazz, reggae, rock 'n' roll and a collection of folk music from all around the world, with a focus on gypsy music:)
Books:
As a kid my favourite author was Roald Dahl, as a teenager Dostoevsky. Then for 6-7 years I read a lot of scientific articles, textbooks and wikipedia but absolutely no books, until a few months ago, since then I've read:
Primo Levi. Periodic Table.
Johnathan Livingston Seagull. Richard Bach
Erich Maria Remarque. All quiet on the western front
How Proust can change your life. Alain de Botton.
The immortal life of Henrietta Lacks
Eat, pray, love. Elizabeth Gilbert
Last time I was in the bookshop I bought (to be read):
The name of a rose. Umberto Eco.
Aldous Huxley. Brave New World.
A short history of almost everything. Bill Bryson.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 14 I hiked to the top of Mount Sinai in Egypt. We left the village at the bottom in total darkness and made our way along a narrow, winding path. We had a local guide who knew the way. You could only tell where to make your next step by watching the feet of the person in front of you. We felt like we were the only 4 people for miles around, sometimes even in the whole universe. However, as we got closer to the top, we started hearing more and more voices and footsteps all around. We arrived at the peak just in time for sunrise and to our surprise found the entire top of the mountain dotted with groups of people. The view of the pink and orange mountain range going as far as your eyes could see combined with the amazing diversity of people witnessing this sunrise was unforgettable. The descent was also very cool because this time you could see all these hundreds of people going down one single path, making a snake sliding down the mountain.
