Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am financially challenged,since only source of income is monthly pension. I can travel most economically if I stay with others open to hosting travelers. I have been a nurse for many years, and believe people are basically trustworthy and kind. By staying in private dwellings, I will also have the opportunity to meet others at a deeper level.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited my Australian pen pal in 2005. We have been pen pals since we were 9 years old. It was through My Weekly Reader, a school newspaper. I spent a month touting Oz, staying only at youth hostels...My friend lives on a farm in W.A.....it was wonderful to meet her at last....a dream come true.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My recovery from throat cancer in 2009. I can no longer swallow, have a permanent g-tube ,yet do not let it hinder my ability to travel.
