ABOUT ME

Hi I`m Margaret. I was born in Sydney Australia. I am the second eldest of seven children.

I look forward to using Couch surfing as a window of opportunity to meet people, learn new things and share cultures and experiences.

I have three adult children and love being a grandma to six delightful and individual grandchildren.

PHILOSOPHY

Finding joy in the moment. Life long learning is good for the mind and body.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have enjoyed meeting and learning from the people at the local Finnish couch surfing gathering in Helsinki while visiting with my son and his family.

My son Andy has introduced me to the couch surfing philosophy and world.

Interests

Cooking, learning the art of quilting from my sister and making quilts for my grandchildren, gardening especially growing and eating my own fresh produce and sharing it with friends, volunteer work helping my elderly friends and learning from their years of experience and wisdom

Music, Movies, and Books

I like listening to country music and a wide variety of different music styles. I inherited a love of reading from my mum and I can see this has now been passed on to my children. My reading interests include reading about different peoples lives, teaching educational books and reading and discussing books that are of interest to my children. Classic movies and real life stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in the Philippines as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a great thirst to learn new things and to improve my skills and knowledge. I am very interested in helping children to read and opening the door for children who struggle with school learning. I hope to pass my knowledge on so others will continue to help children after my time.
