About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Leaving the East Coast behind and embracing my westward expansion

ABOUT ME

I have lived in Washington, DC for the past four years toolin' around the private side of international development and the non-profit side of international peace and security. I love my BA in philosophy, literature, music and mathematics. Admittedly, I was raised in New Jersey and part of me will always love diner food (a bigger part of me loves fancy food). I like to think of myself as well traveled; in the early years of my life my father was active duty military so we moved around a lot. But it wasn't until I was 24 that I experienced the United States' great Northwest territory. So I'm all in this adventure I call Westness. I've given some quality time to Montana and now I know I need to keep going.

PHILOSOPHY

one of my basic truths: more often than not, anger is not only pointless it is also useless

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because I'm on the move I can't provide any couches just yet. But I will.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This summer I drove through Pennsylvania, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota and Montana (I-94 is so cool!) and the digs were all courtesy of surfers. It was sublime; sure I could have stayed at motels or even hostels but those are just beds- surfers are good conversation!

Interests

In my free time I enjoy map-making, hiking, quilting, cooking, restoration/repair and, of course, reading. I obsess over world history, fresh herbs, gin (the card game) and I harbor a decidedly guilty pleasure for pop 80's and 90's music.
