About Me

CURRENT MISSION
“When you leave this world, it’s not what you take with you, but what you leave behind.”

ABOUT ME
I am a "young" thinking single lady who LOVES life and wants to experience more of it!! I practically grew up on an airplane, moving continents several times until I was 9 (hence the travel bug). Moved to Mazatlan, Mexico in 2011. The last place I lived in was Northern British Columbia, Canada (too cold and too isolated)... Love young thinking, open-minded people that like to grasp life and live it to the fullest! Travelling is #1 on my list, next to music and dancing of course!

PHILOSOPHY
Giving back whenever and wherever I can is very important in fulfilling my life. I find you get back MORE than you can ever give. Learn, learn, learn and you will never grow old.

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."- Gandhi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to welcome visitors and new residents to Mazatlan. Meeting for coffee/drink and sharing my knowledge on how to get around and where things are in this beautiful and friendly town.
Have met some amazing people in the CS Mazatlan group and hope to continue doing fun things together!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few times and have been a guest too. Very positive experiences! I recommend it completely! Even if you're not needing a place to park for the night, I highly recommend contacting a CS'er in the area you're visiting. They are full of useful information about the area that you may not otherwise get to know.

Interests

Travelling, volunteer work, helping youth (I was a key player in getting a skatepark built in my community). Music BIG TIME!! Especially Latino (banda, salsa, cumbia etc),hip hop, rap,(yeah, I know..." aren't you kinda old for that?" Answer...have been a fan for more than 20 years now!)..even got into DJ'ing private parties occassionally...and oh I love the blues too. Dancing would be at top of my list as well!! Since moving to Mazatlan I also discovered BANDA music! Love it!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Banda, salsa, bachata, cumbia, merengue, hip hop, pop, blues. A big documentary movie fan too.International/foreign movies intrigue me....I love reading legal thrillers (John Grisham, John Lescroart, etc)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Angel Falls in Venezuela...breathtaking! Landing on a dirt strip in the middle of the jungle only to be welcomed by a posse of machine gun toting fellows. Then taken to a "campo" owned and run by the blondest and most blue eyed people.....thought they spoke English, but oops, no, only Spanish and German! Spent 3 days in a thatched roofed cabin and went for a hike through the jungle seeing the most incredible tea colored river...

Teach, Learn, Share

Was on my own at a relatively young age (17) and learned much over the early years alone in a big city. I love to share my life and travel experiences with anyone who is open to it. Have backpacked, motorbiked and bussed my way around the places I've been.
