ABOUT ME
July 2019 edit:*** I have moved from big home in forest to small home in nearby city. Am no longer able to host unless I know you from the past. In Columbus Ohio.
I have traveled to over 40 states, and into Europe and Mexico. Mostly however, I've based the past 3 decades in Ohio, and now live in the SE area filled with the non-glaciated Hocking Hills. Waterfalls, and gorges uncharacteristic of this otherwise flat state. Delivered lots and lots of babies over the years, many in home births beginning in my hippie years, and transitioned into older years. Have been returning to a midpoint now! Intentional simply living, helping some others as we go, I've found friendships in many faces and places. Respect diversity and each path. My daughter traveled across the US 5 years ago via CouchSurfing (in January no less) and reported wonderful hosts and experiences. I'm hoping for the same, but without the blizzards and hail. I promise to leave any space cleaner than I find it, and respect your privacy and homespace. Non-smoking.I will not be traveling with a pet.
PHILOSOPHY
Whew! In this little bubble of space, hard to say what my personal philosophy is! Not unique, but: Live and Let Live. Honor all living beings, and walk as softly as possible, but explore voraciously. Listen well (and mostly).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My road trip of 2013 included about 15 host homes, with only the best of memories.
I have hosted countless people coming into this vacation area for over a decade. However, I have limited, but positive experience hosting through couchsurfing. As above, my daughter has surfed a number of times with good experiences across the U.S., and now lives in CA, as a result of "a trip west."
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
About a dozen surfers in my home, and Friends of Friends of friends..... have stayed at my home, house-sat, partied. Lots of relatives and their friends have joined me here over the decade.
Interests
Nature, and conservation of land and it's resources. Mostly vegetarian, but a bit flexible as needs arise. Hike. Women's health and early childrearing to foster connection and gentle parenting. Midwifery. Active volunteering. Computer savy-Mac.

Music, Movies, and Books
Reading Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver now.
The Signature of All Things--Elizabeth Gilbert. A bridge between fiction and botanical treatise. Great story telling.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Who writes these questions!? OMGoodness. One amazing thing I've done: parent 4 healthy intelligent and independent children. whew.
Everyday miracles, like helping a babe and mom go through birth. Simple, unique, amazing. Times thousands. Many. Thousands.
Teach, Learn, Share
Yes! I love the concept of students teaching others! I am a motley collection of both banal and electric/ eclectic true stories. Dr Suess said it so well before: " Oh The Places You'll Go ! " Serious comedy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
To Share With Surfers: I have a small "mother-in-law" space (private entrance option), and another private twin bedroom available, both with a private bath. My home is on the edge of town, and surrounded by several acres of woods, wildlife and beauty. Safe and clean. Hocking Hills has become the single most popular State Park in the U.S., a little hard to believe, but true. Our waterfalls, gorges and spectacular views are worth the trip. If couchsurfing is not for you, check out explorehockinghills.com to find one of over 700 cabins.
