Overview
About Me
I´m a 24 years old Portuguese girl, from a small town by the south, were I lived until I was 18 years old. Then I moved to Lisbon were I lived for three years while getting my degree in dental hygiene. When I finish it was hard to find a job in my field, so I returned to my home town, where I worked in my family fields(in agriculture), sporadically I did some promotional jobs and also in the summers I had worked in a bar. After a year and half I finally got a job opportunity in my field in Portimão, and I moved there.
After working in the Clinic for almost two years, besides the fact that was a really good experience for me in all the ways, and that I’ve learned a lot there, I found out that maybe spending in media 10 hours a day closed in a clinic it was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. And now I’m trying to find my way, and my place. And that’s how I decided to take a break for six months to travel with one of my childhood best friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of the things I like the most in life it´s meeting new people, and exchange knowledge and experiences and I’m also a low-budget traveler so I think this platform it’s the perfect match to trying to know the world, even when it’s through the words of someone else.
Also since I was really young, and I started traveling with my parents even when was just for a different city, I always had that curiosity about how would be like living in that town like a local, and I think there’s no better way to see how locals live, than stay in their own couch.
Interests
Travelling
I always had that passion for travelling, and the more I do it, more I want to do it, see more, meet new people and their life stories, culture and costumes. I think that when you travel, even more than the photos and the tickets of the attractions you visit, you also take home in your baggage the people, the ones you travel with, and the ones that cross your way, and I think that somehow, they may have a roll in your life.
Nature and Animals
I’m in love with Nature, and it worked always like a getaway and where I can find my inner peace. I’m lucky to have such a variety of landscapes in my hometown, such as a river that runs by side the city and separate us from Spain; a large yellow sand beach and also we have countryside right next to the city doors. That’s why I think I’m so in love with nature, because since I remember myself I’ve been surrounded by it. I also have some family fields, and I had been in contact with lots types of animals, and I had always feel the need to be near them. When I was younger, almost every weekend I’d take home a new animal, just for one day or two, like frogs, snakes, bunnies, birds, grasshoppers and a lots more species.
Sport
It was always present in my life, and I kind depend on it. I’ve practice Gymnastic, ballet, swimming, athletics, volleyball and the most influent was basketball. I love to play any kind of collective sport, but I also love to run all by myself with my thoughts. So I’m always ready to be challenged to do anything that makes me move.
People
I just love the challenging feeling when you’re meeting someone and trying to make an empathic connection.
Food
I’m totally that kind of person that lives to eat, and not the opposite. I really love to learn new dishes, and ways to cook. I’m not peaky at all and I’m always curios to try everything.

Music, Movies, and Books
I think I’m able of hearing every kind of music, it depends on the situation, but by myself I prefer to listen Mallu Magalhães, Maneva, Dispatch, The Strokes, John Legend, the Kooks, John Mayer, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Citizen Cope, The Winery Dogs, Jack Johnson, Pearl Jam, Amy Winehouse, José James, Ben Harper, Mayra Andrade, Ritchie Kotzen, Aerosmith…
I’m really in to read, also every type of books, but I’m addicted to history, action and adventure, mystery and off course about travel. My favourite writers are José Rodrigues dos Santos; Carlos Ruis Zafón; Julia Navarro.
I think I have a really deep cinematographic gap in my life because that are lots of classic movies that I want to see, but I really like every type of movies, it depends on the disposition.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Go in an 8 days trip all by myself for Macedonia and Bulgaria.
What I’m trying to do right now which it’s a really low-budget trip, for 6th moths with one of my best friends, thought Europe and Asia.
Teach, Learn, Share
For me, one of the best ways for self-enrichment it’s to exchange experiences, and finding new perspectives of life through to the process of knowing new people. No matter the age, I believe that we always have something to learn with everyone that cross our path.
Although in a first contact I can look like a little bit shy, I’m really a talkative person, and I love to share my histories, points off view and perspectives about everything in the world, I’m also a great listener, and I like to absorb everything.
The fact that I love food, makes me love to cook, especially when is for a large group of people (so much more than just for myself), so I’m expecting to be able to share some meals.
What I Can Share with Hosts
At the moment I can’t host anyone, but I can’t wait to be a Host, and be able to be in my normal day routine, and receive someone unknow in my home, that take me into their trips, life expirence, costumes and culture. That’s what I also intent to give to my hosts, trying to be like a getaway from their routines, and have the opportunity to share with them my small life journey so far. I also will be thrilled to cook some traditional Portuguese dishes. And if they want to do some sport, I’m also always ready.
