My name’s Margarita Lutsenko, I’m an exchange student from Russia who’s gonna stay in the US for two months to grasp American culture. I’m very excited to try local food, share new ideas, learn about people’s viewpoints, and acquire new insights!
I’m very open-minded, uplifted and empathetic. I’m always eager to learn new things in life, I love studying and, most of all, I love people 💫

Interests

Currently, I’m majoring in graphic design, so I’m pretty much captivated by design trends, exceptional works and outstanding creativity. Moreover, I’m carried away by arts, especially by paintings. My favorite artistic movement is Impressionism ( Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, etc). I generally love learning more about History of Arts. In addition, I’d also love to ace photography more and more (you can ask me about my photography projects as well!)

I love reading, watching movies, spending time with my close ones, playing board games, listening to music. What’s more, I like playing ping pong, going to the gym, skiing (especially free riding) hiking, traveling 🌍

Music, Movies, and Books

Generally speaking, I’m a fan of pop culture. I’m very versatile in this regard and I’m always open to new genres and concepts.
If we talk about books, I love science fiction, novels, dystopia, and psychology books. Honestly, I can read whatever as long as it’s interesting hahah 😌
As for music, right now I’m really into hip-hop of 90s and 00s, I think this era is legendary. Eminem’s been my favorite artist for years and I’m driven by his songs so much. Besides, I love such pop artists as Doja Cat, BTS, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran, etc. But again, if a track keeps repeating in my head, idc what genre it is.
Speaking about movies, I ironically like both drama and comedies the most. Let’s say, immersive storytelling but in a lighthearted manner. The prime example is my favorite film is “The Intouchables”! I’m also in love with Harry Potter series, Tarantino movies, Netflix shows like Squid Game, Sex Education and Stranger Things. It’s worth mentioning that I’m a huge fan of the Last of Us original games!!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell you fun facts about Russia and debunk myths about this country. I can encourage people to try new experiences, motivate and support them. Or we can just sit and have long conversations about life together ☺️. I’d also share laughs and just enjoy new acquaintances
