ABOUT ME

The child of 2 travelling hippies, bouncing around from place to place in my 20's is engrained in my DNA. I am a New Zealand citizen, now turned Canadian resident and currently live in South Korea. I wish I saw a lot more of the people that I have met along my travels. But as we all tend to be cut from the same cloth, we bump into each other in various countries along the way! Life is good like that. And now, through CS, I get to meet new people every time I travel!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a part of CS for a few years but never had my own profile. Now that I am finally up and running again I plan on making full use of it! A couple of friends I lived with used to host in the house we lived in. And now, as my boyfriend and I usually travel together we seem to always use his profile for requests. After an amazing weekend thanks to CS I thought it was time to finally become a part of it all and am in control of my own profile.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met two AMAZING people who had us to stay in Boston. Despite the fact that they were moving out in a couple of days, they accommodated us any way. They took us around, showed us their local haunts, and we were up until the wee hours of the morning. They were leaving a few days later to road trip around the US and decided to detour up to Canada to come stay with us a few weeks later. To me that is what CS is all about.

Interests

I grew up on skis, literally. And love being in the snow. Most of my favourite memories in life involve skiing. It allowed me the opportunity to travel far and wide at a young age and is truly my first love. That being said I also enjoy beaches, a good book, swimming, water polo, new places, mojitos and lots more.

I will read anything with words written on it. From Tolstoy to chick lit, my taste is varied and non-discriminatory.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being at the top of a mountain in the Swiss Alps and then getting to ski down it. Mind blowingly awesome.
Every time I am fortunate enough to get to go home to Queenstown, New Zealand. Some times I forget how beautiful a sunset in my home town truly is.

People who have travelled to places that are still on my list to go to. I love learning about places and experiences that are off the tourist trail that are only known by the people who have been there, and not the internet.
