About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Become a recovering perfectionist and pursue topics I find interesting
ABOUT ME
Chocoholic who must travel. I proudly serve on the board of an environmental non-profit powered by volunteers and has the metrics to show its impact. Lately, I’ve started to learn to play the ukelele and have volunteered on farms to learn how to milk goats, make cheese, and tend to various animals.
In the past, I’ve gone to my local Couchsurfing group's gatherings; traveled with and befriended other CSers; and gone to a couple of Couchcrashes. Nowadays, I try to connect with local CSers when I travel.
PHILOSOPHY
Be curious. Seek out rich experiences. Don’t behave like a jerk face.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Being rooted in community is important to me, and I am happy to say that I’ve made connections and found community in places far from home through Couchsurfing.
When I travel, I want a more meaningful experience where I really get a sense of a place’s character and connect with the people who make it so.
Interests
I care about preventing climate change, reducing waste, and repurposing/upcycling things. I enjoy thrifting to lessen the ecological backpack of what I consume and have become more interested in learning about native plants.
I’m discerning about chocolate, food, and coffee. I enjoy visiting museums, hiking, getting to really know an area, and connecting with folks who live there. I have also enjoyed ecstatic dance when I get to attend sessions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most amazing thing done:
I spent 28 days in the Pisgah National Forest doing an Outward Bound course that consisted of hiking, rock climbing, whitewater canoeing, and running.
Most amazing thing seen:
Denali National Park in Alaska
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn how to row in a scull, improve my yodeling, become more comfortable playing ukelele chords, Irish dance, sail, actually go through the step-by-step process of making good wine, build a boat, shear a sheep, and paint.
I'm pretty good at making cake and desserts in general, so I can share my knowledge regarding that. I can yodel.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If the ingredients are available, I could make an NC classic Atlantic Beach pie. I could also do a chocolate chess pie, but I haven’t found a crust that I like best with it.
