I have two young adult daughters who live within close range of me. I am one of eight children. One of my sisters lives in Paris, and another in San Francisco. The rest of my siblings live in various places in southern Africa.

I work from home so I will be able to guide my guests easily.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My sister, who now lives in Paris, has been couch surfing for quite a while and recommended I sign up when my children moved out recently and I had extra space.

My home has always been full of life and energy and I love having people around.

I am excited to meet new and interesting people from all over the world.

Interests

I enjoy reading novels, and watching movies and mini-series.

I also enjoy walking on the beaches and hiking in the mountains, forests and national parks around me.

Crossword puzzles, sudoku and jigsaw puzzles also keep me entertained.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all music except for rap and heavy metal. Among my favourite artists are Adele, Queen, Josh Groban, Pink, George Ezra, Johnny Cash and Michael Bublé.

Shawshank Redemption, Burlesque and The Mirror Has two faces are among my favourite movies.

Dan Brown and Gregory David Roberts are two authors I really enjoy. Shantaram is one of my favourite books of all time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

There is a spare bedroom in my home, which is situated in the southern suburbs of Cape Town. I live more or less half way between the city bowl and the peninsula (Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek etc).

I am on a main road so public transport in the form of buses and trains is accessible (although not always reliable).

My kitchen is large and I enjoy cooking for guests.

There is a small garden where guests can relax and soak up the fresh air.
