ABOUT ME
What to say...?
I consider myself to be a sincere person who's open to new challenges, ideas, and people! I'm very close with my family, but I love to travel, so it's hard to reconcile my itch for adventure and my need to spend time with the people I care about.
I love languages and am an aspiring translator/interpreter.
I stubbornly wear flip-flops year-round (it's the California girl in me), even in bad weather.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I attend our monthly meetings in La Plata, and have been fortunate enough to go to a number of events hosted by the local CouchSurfing community. I taught salsa and bachata at one of our dance nights and currently host English movie nights and weekly Speak English! classes for CouchSurfers in Argentina.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was introduced to CouchSurfing when I received a fellowship to teach and work in La Plata. The girl who I was replacing suggested I meet up with some CouchSurfers who had really made her experience in Argentina wonderful, and so I accepted a couple of offers and went to dinners, drank maté, and surfed with a number of them until I found an apartment to live in. Things just sort of snowballed from there- CouchSurfers introduced me to other CouchSurfers, all of whom have been welcoming, open-minded people who were more than willing to share their time, their food, and even their homes with me! I love the idea of having a community of people open and willing to embrace you wherever you go, especially because I love to travel. Hopefully when I get back to the States I can return the favor!
