My name is Maria and I’m 24 year-old Portuguese girl
I'm a vet, and I'm moving out of my lovely country to begin a new adventure in Ireland. I'm super excited about it but before I start my new life, I decided I wanted to travel a bit more, that's why I'm back here, at this amazing community.
I live in a little village called Castelo de Vide, in Alentejo region, with my parents, my 2 sisters and my 8 year-old dog (Maia), which you can see in my profile picture.
My parents love to travel so they have done many trips during their life and I think my love for travelling came from them since they have always encouraged me to travel and do stuff I like. BUT my biggest role models when it comes to traveling are definitely my grandparents since they have traveled the whole world! The only continent they missed is Oceania and the trip they liked the most was China (so much they went there twice). I aspire to travel as much as them! 🤩

Music, Movies, and Books

I've always loved anything related to arts since my family was always very close to it, specially to music. I've studied in a Music School for 5 years and I'm a sucker for anything with piano in it 🥰
I listen to different styles of music but some of my favorite artists are Arctic Monkeys, The Neighborhood, Billie Eilish, Finneas, Harry Styles, My Chemical Romance, Radiohead, Sam Smith, John Newman, etc. When it comes to something more classical, what I hear the most is Ludovico Einaudi.
It's actually hard for me to choose a favorite movie but "The Sound of Music" will always have a special place in my heart.
The series I'm watching now is The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and it's brilliant!
Regarding to books, I read a lot more when I was younger than I do now but I'm currently reading the biography of Laura Clery called Idiot and some books of animal behavior.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived vet school... I call that almost a miracle to be honest!
I’ve donated my hair to Little Princess Trust and encouraged my sister to do the same.
I have done volunteering actions in food campaigns, in school activities with kids, in festivals

I'm always down for good convos and I love to hear about people's life experiences and stories and points of view about life in general.
If you like to cook, I'll happily cook along since I'm Portuguese and we love homecooked meals and sharing them with others!
If you don't like to cook but you enjoy spending some time together, I'm definitely join you anyway!
I'm down to learn anything you think you can teach me , since I love to learn new things! New recipes are always very welcome as I'm always looking foward to find new ones to try 😋
