Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like travelling. I like to explore new places. I like to walk the streets, to see little mysteries and to share the love for the city with those who live there.

Music

Music is life, as well as tea)
I like various music. I like the music to be melodic and I like good lyrics. Also I like instrumentals including classical music.
There are some performers I ilke (in random order): Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Katie Melua, Bruno Pelletier, Teräsbetoni, The Proclaimers, Enya, Scorpions, Sting, Queen, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, First Aid Kit, Iwan Rheon, The Dartz.
My special passion is Ritchie Blackmore's music.

Movies

I like movies that make one think, feel, dream. I like cartoons and animated movies as well as movies with actors.
The movie that had a great influence on me is Braveheart. The movies that have a special place in my heart and life are Love Actually and Road to ElDorado.
Also I like Soviet movies.
The latest movie that has greatly impressed me is Arrival.

Books

I like reading a lot. Among my favorite authors are Arkady and Boris Strugatsky, Herbert Wells, William Somerset Maugham, Charles de Lint.
Now I read predominantly professional literature, amazing authors like Pierre Bourdieu, Michel Foucault, Carl Marx and other less notable social scientists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer 2013 I went to Crimea by hitchhiking and spent two days and one night in the wild (walking through the mountains) all by myself. It was a journey to the nature as well as to my inner world. And it was truly amazing!
In spring 2017 I had a wonderful journey for the music show - presentation of the new album by The Dartz. I went by hitchhiking Kharkiv-Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod and back, and encountered lots of lovely music, nice people and curious events. That was a real Fantastic Adventure! (which is an approximate translation of the name of that album)
Still, I wouldn't mind to do something amazing again. Any suggestions appreciated!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn and stay open to new things in my life. I'll gladly try something you like to do but I have never done!
Also I will gladly help you out to master any of my skills you find helpful. One can never know what may come in use!
Practicing language is always a pleasure: your native, my native, or any of the foreign.
I like cooking and would like to cook something for you or be a help in the kitchen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I respect other people's privacy, territory and way of life so I will try to make my presence none of a problem for the Host. I can share my time, stories, help, listening, advice, activity or not do anything of the above if you don't want it.
As well I do everything to never leave a mess after my stay.
