About Me

I'm a friendly and sociable English teacher who has spent the last 3 years living and working in Santander, Spain. However in July 2018 I moved to Vancouver, Canada with my darling boyfriend Fernando to try a new chapter in a new part of the world! I love travelling and meeting local people, I think it's the best way to get to know a place. I love to chat and drink tea so if you're into one of those things we'll get on!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and cultures. I think it's an awesome way to meet really interesting people and to learn so much in often a short time! I really like how genuine and open people are as I tend to be the same.

Interests

I'm really into sports - running, hiking, cycling, skiing, dancing (mainly salsa, bachata) and whatnot. I love checking out local food and music in new places and making a fool of myself as I try local traditional things and get them hilariously wrong.
Travel - the aim is to gradually live myself around the world.
Camping! I'd really like to have a campervan in the future to be able to constantly explore while working remotely!

Music, Movies, and Books

I adore musicals - Les Miserables would have to be my favourite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In May 2017 I completed the El Soplao Marathon in Cantabria, Spain - a 50km trail run with over 2,500m of ascension, I finished as the 7th woman overall and 4th in my category in a time of 6hrs 15.
Believe me it was hard work and the furthest I had ever run!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm trying to learn Spanish with varying degrees of success!
Foodwise I have quite a sweet tooth so I like making desserts or anything that will go with a cup of tea!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, funny stories, language exchange, travel tips, advice for living/travelling/working in England, Spain, Holland and East African countries, music and food.
I can share about all the weird and wonderful experiences of living and working in various places.
I can make a mean cup of tea and some very good British desserts.
As a English teacher I love language so help/chats with anything related to that!
