About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Maria and I’m from Germany. I’ve been traveling all the way to Central Asia since May 2023 and I’m looking forward to meeting new people and making enriching experiences on the way.

IMPORTANT: I have adopted an Armenian stray dog in January 2024 and we are travelling together. Vedi is an incredibly kind little fella, who loves potatoes. He is medium sized, short-haired and pretty well behaved. Besides, he is neutered, vaccinated and in great physical condition. I‘ve been training him ever since I had him and he is not really making any troubles, indoors he just sleeps most of the time. 🐾

NOTE FOR CAT-OWNERS: Vedi has been living with other animals for as long as I had him: dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, you name it. I have always made sure that he‘s kind with them and he always has been. We‘ve been hosted by plenty of cat- owners before, without any problems. Check out my gallery for photos of him and my reviews,

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm into travelling and getting to know new people which is why I'm here. I haven't got the facilities yet to host someone myself but I'd like to do so as soon as possible. Until then, I'd be pleased to find people to stay with.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been watching far too many series recently and my absolute favorites have been Friends, Suits, Firefly Lane and Dark. I'm always grateful for recommendations.

Book-wise, I don't even know where to start. Since I studied German Literature in my bachelor's degree, this is one of my main domains. Hermann Hesse is definitely my favorite German poet, my favorite book is from a different author though: "Der Stellvertreter" by Rolf Hochhuth. Anyways, this is something I can ramble about for a long time, ask me when we meet (if you care) ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my first adventures as a grown up was a multiple day hike in Lapland (Finland) in 2017 with a friend. We borrowed her mum's car, drove up north for two days and wandered off in a National Park. We saw reindeers and a moose. The nature was beautiful and it was amazing to free the mind.

In general, I enjoy backpacking and hiking very much until today because I like the thought of living with a material minimum.

What I Can Share with Hosts
