Overview
About Me
I love to travel and to cook. Also: hot yoga! I'm spontaneous, an explorer, gentle, open-minded; I'm calm, frank, curious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm Couchsurfing because I want to get to know a place from the "inside": to get to know something different from the tourist hotspots and the local perspective or narrative. And also as a host, I like to offer this. Most of all, I want to meet people, connect, broaden my horizon. And sometimes I need a place to sleep and a little chat ;) At the moment I'm not hosting. My first trip surfing was in October-November 2016 and it was quite something!
Interests
I dance a little salsa, zouk, bachata and Kizomba. Before covid, I practiced hot yoga (the Tapasya series), yin yoga and meditated a bit, but i still have to find my way back to it. I'm passionate about nutrition and health, I value sustainability, I'm interested in other cultures and languages, connecting with people and life, and after a time dedicated to personal development I now find myself working as a freelance teacher of Dutch as a foreign language. I basically travel within my own classroom :) but I'm also a tourleader, best job ever! I really missed it the past few years so I'm doing that more than teaching at the moment. Next stop: Wales!

Music, Movies, and Books
It's so versatile I can't possibly describe it in such a small box here ;) Ask me!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Three things: I sandboarded off a volcano near León, Nicaragua, I jumped off a 9 meter high cliff at Lago de Atitlán, Guatemala, and I hiked on a glaciar in El Calafate, Argentina!
Teach, Learn, Share
A lot! Probably... isn't each person a treasure of knowledge and experience?
I like to share what I know with regard to my expertise (intercultural communication, Spanish, Dutch), I like to share my language and "exchange" languages, talk about my hobbies: I can tell you a lot about the benefits of food and nutrition (and also the downsides of some...).
Sharing and togetherness are important aspects of my personality. Independence, as well.
Well, how it all works out couchsurfing... who can tell :)
