About Me
Hi everyone!
I'm currently studiyng for my Master's degree in sociology. I'm conducting research in the field of death studies - mainly researching russian cemetries where famous people were buried.
I'm also working in online marketing research as a project manager so I'm just a plain office worker 24/5 :) I try to brighten up my life travelling as much as I can. I also enjoy visiting art museums - I deeply like Impressionism and Japanese art (Ukiyo-e art). And, of course, I adore beatiful cemetries - strolling here can be pretty curious.
You can check my Instagram (@maria1814) to see that I'm a real human being:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested in expanding my experience in living with locals - I find it much more enjoyable and safer than staying in the hotels. And I love having some company when travelling. My big desire is to live and have fun together like Finn and Jake from the Adventure Times:)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm a big fan of Janet Jackson (I also run a fan group about her at the Russian social network VK). I mainly opened to any kind of music: 90s R'n'B, jazz, folk and industrial.
Movies: almost any film by Tarantino and Bergman, Only Lovers Left Alive by Jarmusch, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. And let's not forget serials: Breaking Bad, The Handmaid's Tale, Stranger Things, Agatha Christie's Poirot series, Studio Ghibli films
Books: Tolkien's saga, The Chronicles of Narnia, Russians classics (Tolstoy, Bulgakov, Lermontov), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - guess I can not remember all the good books I have ever read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being able to talk to people in Morocco while not knowing French or Arabic.
Climbing three kilometers up the mountain to see Koruldi Lakes in Georgia. And then drink water from the glacier (spoiler - it is absolutely tasteless).
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can discuss almost everything, you can learn a lot from me about death culture in Russia, I also passionate in talking about art. And if you ever were wondering what sociology is about... :) Oh, and of course I will show you pictures of my cat constantly - she is so sweet and weird.
I respect other people's privacy so I'll keep your house safe and clean and will not bother you if you had a tough day:)
