About Me
Hello! My names Maria nice to meet you! I've been traveling for about 7 months now I left the states in October '16 so far I've been to Cambodia, Thailand, Bali, Vietnam, Laos and currently im in India! I would love to host people as well but that won't be until my traveles are over or I stay put in a country for awhile. I rescued a dog and name her Shanti which means peace , harmony and tranquility. She's become my travel companion and my best friend people say I saved her life but she saved mine as well. I'm really excited and looking forward to getting s more in depth cultural experience by couch surfing and making deeper connections with those i meet. I'm easy going and try to always make the best out of every situation life is too short to not be happy. I believe smiles and hugs have the power to change the world and I'm looking forward to getting involved with local communities. Shanti and I are excited to see where this journey take us. Hopefully we'll meet you soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Looking to meet people who are from the areas I'm visiting. Would rather be getting invited into sharing the cultural experience rather than just lookin in form the outside. I love to cook so I'd love to learn how to make some of your favorite traditional meals! I love the outdoors so I'm up for anything outdoors playing sports, hiking or just checking out your local spots. Where ever I go Shanti comes too hope you don't mind ! We're both excited for this new experience

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all music and different styles of dance! Don't think I have a favorite book but most recent I read was " Girl on the Train" as far as movies go I love them all old, new, foreign, scary, comedy, action, and of course romantic comedies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I consider myself blessed to have done many exciting things and have gone on amazing adventures such as horseback riding through the mountains in Colorado, snorkeling in caves of Turks and Caicos, hiking to the peak of an active volcano in time for sunrise in Bali, kayaking to major waterfalls in Laos, teaching Shanti how to ride a motorbike in India, and much more!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, ideas through different cultural perspectives, insight to my home country and what to do if you ever travel there. New card games we can play together along with making a new friend!
