Overview
About Me
I am originally born in Yerevan, Armenia, however my whole life I have lived in Moscow which really influenced my worldview and perception of other cultures since young age. When I was 17 I was selected to study in an international school United World College which brings teenagers from all over the world together, no matter which background, nationality, gender, sexuality they have. Throughout two years that I spent in Armenia (ironically, out of all countries I was sent back to my homeland) I have shared room with people from four continents, studied languages with the native speakers, organized many project to help Armenian people and traveled through Armenia and neighboring beautiful Georgia making life-lasting friendships in the meantime. Currently I study politics and economics in the University of Florida and aspire to become someone who has positive impact on the world, in future I'd love to study human rights and practice it in NGOs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that Couchsurfing makes traveling more accessible, but much more importantly, it makes it meaningful. I love the fact that there are people who are ready to welcome someone in the most personal and intimate place they have, share what they have. I am so excited to hear stories from people all over the world using this platform, get to know new places through their perspective! It is crazy to think how much you can learn from and give to someone by just living with them for a couple of days and I can't wait to experience that.

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, for me it is difficult to answer, since I believe that all the genres and all the times have worthy and talented artists, however recently I feel like I pay much more attention to older music, especially rock and jazz. Right now I cannot stop listening to Queen and found a vintage vinyl in a thrift shop that I immediately bought. My favorite artist that I followed to a different country so that I can see a concert is Christina Aguilera.
The first movies that come to my mind are very different, though very strong in their respective genres. I love "Bridget Jones's Diaries" but I also recently rewatched "Devil's Advocate" and was again impressed by it just like the first time. However, I am a huge cinematography fan and chances are I can talk about most of the movies you'd like me to.
There are many books that I have read in my life and much more I would love to, but as a generation from 90's hands down, I will always love Harry Potter. If choosing not something so cliche and expectable I will definitely go with all the pieces written by Ray Bradbury and I really hope one day we will travel to Mars.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
No matter what else I try to come up with, I believe for me it is being selected to study in UWC that I have mentioned above. That experience shaped who I am and will continue doing it my whole life, What is amazing - I saw the application on the last day and put all my efforts into finishing it before the deadline, I knew it was destiny then.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am yet a young person, who has a lot to learn and to absorb and I know that whomever I meet here will be someone who makes me a better, a more understanding and well rounded person. The only thing I can teach is everything I know about both of my Russian and Armenian cultures - I love history and I appreciate these identities. Ask me anything - I will try my best.
